JaY (LIGHTBRINGER) with Guitar-Leda

This translation was a request. I'm not all that fluent with understanding spoken content and there was a lot of jargon in this video that I simply don't know anything about so this translation is extremely basic. Please keep this in mind as you read.

Hello everyone watching from Guitar-Leda.

I’m JaY from Lightbringer.

Our album MONUMENT was released on November fifth.

It’s this one. (Points at image of Album cover on screen)

Interviewer: is there anything on there made by you…

JaY: the arrangement… just about that. Fundamentally Mao and Hibiki made the music and the guitars soften out the arrangement more appropriately, it’s like that.

Just the guitar is done entirely by me. Absolutely

Interviewer: of this album is there anything you’d like to let us here on your guitar?

JaY: Clockwork no Journey. That’s the second song. The last phrase of it (he says something I can’t follow involving the keyboard).

 (Plays the guitar)

Interviewer: (Something about parts on the guitar being different.)

JaY: Yes, this part is different。Paradise (It says so on the head)。

(Since I don’t get everything he says in detail or word by word I’ll sum it up:

Something about Jason Becker famously using this brand(?) of guitars too. The guitar is not easy to use but has all the parts and so on so… [it’s good]. He has 14 frets, he had 12 previously but he got 14 now because ‘’what if I’ll use it, right?’’.)

Interviewer: do you use only this one guitar for lives and recording right now?

JaY: Yes out of all my guitars it’s almost become my main guitar.

(He continues to explain that he put the Ayrton Senna autograph on there himself as well as the red mark around it.)

(The interviewer asks as for the effects what he uses for recording. JaY replied ‘’essentially this thing’’ and picks up the small box with the three white buttons. I couldn’t pick up what it does though. For lives he says he uses the item with the word ‘’decimation’’ on it or rather the three he placed together, he sticks with only those. He explains the obvious functions of the blue box on the right, I won’t repeat what it already says on the thing itself.)

(The interviewer asks about his guitar pick. He explains he currently uses this one millimeter pick. The interviewer is surprised he can still play with it even if it’s this thin. He then asks if JaY can create overtone with it and he demonstrates it. JaY then drops the pick by accident.

-I got a little lost what happened next, sorry-)

(JaY says he can’t read sheet music and to him he doesn’t think that’s necessary.

When he entered Lightbringer he didn’t know anything of the Japanese metal scene, he was introduced to western music like Led Zeppelin first.

JaY is then asked to explain the current schedule so he goes into the live dates and the release date of the DVD (December 10 which is not shown on the screen) however he says the 6th of December is his birthday so that day is most important.)
